Fresh off the successful release of her debut single, “We Don’t Paint the Town,” which charted at 64 on Music Row Country Breakout Chart February 2017, singer-songwriter-producer Kris Bradley is bringing a sassy and refreshing sound to today’s country music scene. The redlipped tunesmith, who has had songs placed on both Cartoon Network and the E! Channel, is known for her upbeat melodies, sultry vocals and uniquely clever lyrics. Having been compared to the likes of Gretchen Wilson, Amy Winehouse and Brandy Clark, she inscribes a musical signature that is adventurous, authentic and audacious. The Los Angeles native grew up in a house with her great grandmother and was raised on classical music, big bands and jazz. “Mozart and Glenn Miller,” Kris laughs. Her mom’s eclectic musical tastes – from classic rock to Nineties country – also provided a lively sonic spectrum from Led Zeppelin to Reba. Kris realized at a young age that music was the best way to express herself, so at the age of 20 she enrolled at Hollywood’s Musicians Institute. After honing her guitar skills, she hit the road fronting bands and playing venues like Webster Hall, Bluebird Theatre, and Key Club in over 40 states in the U.S. along with tour stops in India, Malaysia and Thailand. During this time, singing for a living provided a crash course in song structure while the road revealed real-life experiences. Her unwavering passion to perform (omitted text), along with a desire to dive deeper into the heart of the music industry, eventually led Kris to relocate to Nashville, Tennessee. As an artist, songwriter and a true rarity – a female producer – the town is a creative capitol that perfectly fits her spectrum of talents. Since her arrival in Music City just one year ago, significant inroads include co-writing with a roster of top songwriters, cuts with artists Nik West and Devon Reese Simon, recording at historic RCA Recording Studios, receiving a DisCovery award from Music Row Magazine and countless performance opportunities. “Nashville is inspiring instead of intimidating,” says the spitfire of her adopted hometown. “It makes me want to be better.” Championed by Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI), Kris has been highlighted both as one of the organization’s “Top 40” and “Ones to Watch.” In addition to having penned an extensive catalog of songs, she continues to tour heavily. Whether it be playing South by Southwest music festival, a writer’s round in downtown Nashville or opening for Big Bad Voodoo Daddy this past year, Kris channels her musical influences - which include Janis Joplin, Kacey Musgraves, Bonnie Raitt, Jason Isbell, Etta James and more - during every performance. Now, after years of honing her craft, she is finally ready to share her debut project with “The Kris Krew,” as she calls her loyal fans. From beach-ready drinking songs ("Vacay For The Day" & “Margarita Monday”) and country rock tunes (“Good Kinda Hurt” & "Whole Damn Pooch") to heartbreak-soaked ballads (“Something Blue”), her forthcoming Worth a Shot EP features eight emotion-packed tracks, all co-written and co-produced by Kris. Her current single, a saucy, upbeat number entitled “We Don’t Paint the Town,” captures the aftermath of a crazy night out on the town with that one person you should leave well enough alone, but can’t quite get enough of. “She has a juicy, pert delivery with a spicy attitude,” writes Music Row Magazine’s Robert K. Oermann about the Californian’s captivating vocals. Her style, refreshingly unique yet timeless and infectious, is what hooks fans from their very first listen. With tireless determination, unparalleled talent and a sound all her own, it’s clear that Kris Bradley is ready to stretch country music to places that it has yet to go.
